THE BEATITUDES: The peacemakers

The Beatitudes:(VII) The peacemakers

Will be called sons of God

 — Seek peace and pursue it.” –I Peter 3:11

A ccording to the dictionary, the word peacemaker is one who “try to end a quarrel or war between others, peaceful or restore peace.” Living in a world where so many wars, strife, discord, jealousy and envy, if something is needed are the peacemakers.  Especially in the home and the church. This is where we must focus our theme.

 >>“Blessed are the peacemakers « — because they shall be called sons of God. “-Matthew 5:9

                                                                         -2-

To be peacemakers is necessary to love peace, not war or lawsuits. Incidentally, one of the qualities to be bishops is “not quarrelsome” (non-litigious): I Timothy 3:3. The apostle Paul also said that we should try to live in peace with all men, but sometimes it is not possible, but that is not our fault. – Romanos 12:18. So Paul says: “If possible, as it depends on you, live peaceably with all men.” – Romans 12:18. I de Pedro 3:11. Los cristianos debemos amar la paz. It also says in Hebrews 12:18 “Pursue peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.” – The apostle Peter adds: “… seek peace and pursue it.” I Peter 3:11. Christians must love peace. If not, we cannot be peacemakers.

Al hablar de los pacificadores  Speaking of the peacekeepers cannot overlook to note that Jesus Christ was a great peacemaker.  He came into this world precisely to restore peace between God and men.  The apostle Paul says, “Therefore being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:1. Christ came to reconcile men to God, read about it in II Corinthians 5:18-20 and Ephesians 2:14-18.  But it is necessary to accept that we want to obey his commands so you can have peace with God.   Unfortunately this is the problem that many do not want to be obedient to the gospel of Christ.  This is the battle, the work of the peacemakers, for those who preach the gospel, to persuade sinners who have faith alive (not dead), to repent, be baptized for the forgiveness of their sins and serve God. In other words, come and be at peace with God.

Peacekeepers are needed in households where there is no peace and harmony between couples and between parents and children.  The great work of peacemakers is to teach the principles established by God, which should be followed at home.  Carefully read the following passages: Ephesians 5:21-25, 28, 31, 33, Colossians 3:18, 19; I Corinthians 7:2-5, 10-16, I Peter 3:1-7.  The children we teach what it says in Ephesians 6:1-4, Colossians 3:20, II Timothy 2:22, Ecclesiastes 11:9-12:1, Proverbs 6:20-24, etc.

Peacekeepers are needed in the church, because there is almost always members who are carnal and are causing problems.  How sad to see and hear of the conflicts and divisions that are in some local churches. We have to emphasize much our love for God and neighbor.  Give serious consideration to the following passages: Matthew 22:37-40, John 14:15, I John 5:2-3, James 3:13-18, Philippians 2:1-4, and so on.

Peacemakers are those who teach to those who have hatred or rancor that has in their hearts, or revenge, to take that away from their hearts. Efesios 4:31-32; Ephesians 4:31-32, Romans 12:18, 19.

Brethren, pray God to help us to be peacemakers.
