About

El Conquistador is a bilingual site featuring both English and Spanish.  The Forum is completely in Spanish, at least for the moment, as well as some of the postings in the News category.  Other than than, you will find a veritable mixture of English and Spanish.  We want to reach as many people as we can.

The site is different from a site such as a church might have, or a religious magazine might follow.  To be sure, we are religious, but perhaps more so along the lines of how James describes pure religion.  Our site seeks to put our faith before others and into the daily activities of everyday living.

Our scope, then, is a bit large.  Our goal is to talk with people where they live.  You might find articles here on recipes, on rhetoric, on literature, on psychology.  Most of the articles, though, center around a biblical theme.  In fact, some of our articles are more intended as possible literature for a Bible class.  We would also like to include articles on the Zeitgeist, the spirit of the age in which we live. In the Forum, you will find diatribe discussions between Don Quixote and Sancho Panza with an emphasis on the comical as well as the more serious aspects of our life.  Our outreach and hope is to speak with people about God and themselves.

On the home page, you will soon find a featured essay with an attempt to talk with someone about life, about their soul, about God.  There are three of these short essays, none of which try to answer everything or every objection possible.  That was not our purpose.  We simply wanted to talk with someone about what matters most in life.  Our intent is to have people think about their soul and their standing before God.  The focus in the three articles is on people who know nothing about the Bible.

What can we say then?

El Conquistador is a site sponsored by two religious men who simply do not want to leave their religion in church.  Our articles will be varied, written by different people from different perspectives.  We invite discussion from people who are not Christians as well.

Spend a few moments on the About page, if you wish.  As you scroll down the page, you will see a number of features.  To post a comment, you will need to register, and that’s easy enough to do.  At the very bottom of every page is a registration form.  Just fill it out, and send it to us.  We ask people to register to prevent evil people from saying evil things on this site.  For us, El Conquistador is our home, and guests need to be invited.

If you would like to receive our Newsletter, let us know as well.  The newsletter is automatically sent to subscribers when fresh articles appear in El Conquistador.   With the newsletter, you are always current with the happenings in El Conquistador.  Your personal information is never disclosed, or sold to a sales site.  We are not interested in money.  We are interested in you.

At times, people ask us about making a donation to help with the expenses, or to the further our efforts.  You can do that, of course, but we do not solicit funds.  We are not of those whom Peter describes as making merchandise of you.  We are interested in you, not yours.  There are those cases, though, in which someone wants to share or help.  We would be wrong to refuse someone from doing good.  If such are your feelings, and you want to help, write us.  An even better way to help would be to tell your friends and neighbors about El Conquistador.  How does that sound to you?

El Conquistador es un sitio bilingüe que ofrece ambos inglés y español.  El Foro está completamente en español, por lo menos para el momento, así como alguno de los anuncios en la categoría de las Noticias.  Otra cosa que que, usted encontrará una verdadera mezcla de inglés y español.  Nosotros queremos localizar a tantas personas cuando nosotros podemos.

El sitio es diferente de un sitio como una iglesia podría tener, o una revista religiosa podría seguir.  Estar seguro, nosotros somos religiosos, pero quizás más así a lo largo de las líneas de cómo James describe pura religión.  Nuestro sitio busca poner nuestra fe antes de otros y en las actividades diarias de todos los días vivir.

Nuestro alcance, entonces, es un pedazo grande.  Nuestra meta es hablar con personas donde ellos viven.  Usted podría encontrar artículos aquí en recetas, en la retórica, en literatura, en psicología.  La mayoría de los artículos, aunque, centre alrededor de un tema bíblico.  De hecho, algunos de nuestros artículos se piensan más como posible literatura para una clase de la Biblia.  Nos gustaría también incluir artículos en el Zeitgeist, el espíritu de la edad en la que nosotros vivimos. El Conquistador es un sitio patrocinado por dos hombres religiosos que simplemente no quieren dejar su religión en iglesia.  Nuestros artículos se variarán, escrito por personas diferentes de perspectivas diferentes.  Nosotros invitamos discusión de las personas que también no son Christianos.
